The year 2009 was a wonderful year for SSF. Being our first year of operations, from registering the applicants to registering their successful year, from creating awareness to delivering the smile, the volunteers managed to achieve the targets set for the year rather moved ahead by the grace of Allah Almighty.

Below is the snapshot of our activities in 2009.

Article Competition - February 2009

An article competition was organized in February 2009. The title was “What should a student do after matriculation?” We received few good articles from different participants and the gifts were sent to all the participants as a token of appreciation.

Visit of Schools & Colleges - March 2009

Subah Sadiq Foundation Team visited every High School & College of Soon Valley in March 2009. We met the teaching staff, discussed with them the problems causing the decline in higher education trend. Two main problems were highlighted (1) Lack of Information (2) Lack of Resources.

Career Development Seminar - April 2009

SSF organized a Career Development Seminar to provide maximum information to students. Seminar was organized on 17th April 2009 in Govt. High School Naushahra.  Islamabad based Career Development counselors were invited to guide the students and they provided very productive information to our students.

Data collection of deserving Students - June 2009

We requested every high school to send us details of talented students who were expecting excellent grades in matric but were most likely to discontinue the studies due to lack of resources. Later on we invited every student for face to face interview to assess their position and to discuss with them different higher education options.

Admission of Students - August 2009

Matric result was announced on 1st August 2009. Subah Sadiq Volunteers in different cities did their best to arrange prospectuses & admission forms for the students and finally students got admissions in different colleges. The parents of some of the students did not permit them to go outside Soon Valley for their FSc hence they were admitted in Colleges of Naushera.

SSF sent 26 Student Stars on sponsorship to different colleges for their higher education.

Prize Distribution Ceremony - August 2009

Celebrating outstanding performance & success of the students is very important; it encourages them to put more efforts in. Those who got excellent grades studying in schools with fewer facilities by just paying PKR 9/= per month fee, deserve appreciation from the community. The Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on 16 August 2009 and 20 toppers from Govt High Schools of Soon Valley and 3 from Private Schools were awarded with prizes and Certificates. Books were also presented for libraries of top 3 schools.

Health Awareness Seminar - August 2009

SSF arranged a Breast Cancer awareness Seminar on 15th August 2009 at Govt. Girls High School Siddiqueabad (Kufri); the issues including symptoms, treatment, self exams, and mammography were discussed with our female community.

Donation of Wheel Chairs - October 2009

Subah Sadiq Foundation has donated Two Wheel Chairs to Govt. Hospital Naushahra in October 2009. It will surely support emergency cases as well as disabled patients.

This all is the snapshot of the team’s activities during last year; your suggestions will definitely improve these and prayers will strengthen the team Inshallah.

We are thankful to Allah the Almighty who has given us the vigor to organize all these activities and for His blessings that have been paving the whole way. May Allah Almighty accept the efforts of the team and those who walked with us in this cause (Ameen).
